Preparing for my session | Part Two
It’s Session Day!!!
The night before my session, I laid out all of my outfits and tried everything back on. I picked my top outfits and put them in my “go bag.” The one thing I forgot to pack and regretted it was my lotion!!
Hair and Makeup were not included in the session fee I paid to my photographer. I know my makeup capabilities, and it does not include glam. It only made sense to hire a friend and insanely talented makeup artist, Rachel Gabrielle.
To prepare for my hair and makeup, I showered the night before and took the blow dryer to my hair. This allowed Rachel to give me the best curls for my shoot. I also made sure to have a clean and makeup free face before seeing Rachel.
The self-love appointments sure helped, but the icing on the cake for how sexy I felt for my session was because of Rachel. Professional hair and makeup is a deal breaker for boudoir sessions. It was so fun to see my before and after!!
Once hair and makeup were finished, I sprinted out of the house and to the studio!
I had some nerves, but overall, I felt great! I was ready to get the shoot started. For me the worst part was shopping for outfits. Once I knew what I was wearing, I was excited and couldn’t wait to get in front of the camera!
I left my session feeling empowered, sexy, confident. I did not want it to end. I could have gone longer.
My one regret is that we didn’t have a babysitter for the evening! I had my hair and makeup done. I had a fresh wax. I was tan. I was itching for a romantic date night. Next time, I’m going to not only hire a babysitter, but I think I’ll also book us a night away!
